Who is this guy?
Raised in Chicago, Pat August received his BFA in acting from the theater conservatory at Chicago College of Performing Arts. Upon graduating, they received the Sarah Siddons Scholarship and continued their training at Second City Chicago, The Groundlings School LA, and under Ivana Chubbuck in her masterclass in West Hollywood. They are currently represented by Aqua Talent and based in Los Angeles.
Pat August is best known for his role as Derek Russo on the web series The Boring Lives of People. In 2024 August co-wrote and starred in the short film Admissions of Desire, which premiered at the Hammer Museum as part of the Flux Screening series in LA and was screened internationally in part with a variety of film festivals. August was also featured in the indie found footage feature I Joined a Cult which is streaming on Amazon Prime now. Other notable credits include being a voice actor on the Podcast Evergreen, as the voice of Philip Hughes, co-stared as TODD in the web series Dana and The Wolf and may have been seen as the reoccurring role of SAD (otherwise known as “The Standard American Diet”) in KOS’ “Don’t be Sad” marketing campaign.
As a writer, August co-wrote Admissions of Desire, which was nominated for best screenplay at Sub-Tropical Independent Film Festival. Currently, August is in pre-production for a pilot they wrote and are producing entitled Jimmy The Basterd, which qualified as a quarterfinalist in both the ScreenCraft Film Fund and Outstanding Screenplays TV Pilot Competition. Their work as a playwright has been featured with Rhino Fest, Drinking & Writing Theater, Chicago 24, The Make Ready Reading Series, and Lakeside Shakespeare Theater.
Upcoming projects include, Okeechobee, Jimmy The Basterd, Thirteen Takes, and Little Chaos (the play).
